What to confirm for denim reorders: first distinguish whether you are restocking available styles or reordering custom styles
The most common mistake in reorders is treating the previous order's price, lead time, and fabric as conditions that remain valid indefinitely. This article is for brands and wholesalers who need to place repeat orders, explaining what to verify for available-stock reorders versus custom reorders: inventory and shipping conditions, specification version, fabric and wash batch, trim inventory, quantity, and scheduling. When information is incomplete, identify the gaps first, then decide whether to place the order.
Before reordering, first confirm whether the original order followed the available-stock or custom path, then verify the specification version, fabric batch, and lead-time milestones; the same style number does not mean the same conditions—available-stock reorders check current inventory, while custom reorders are rescheduled based on the originally approved sample and specifications.

A reorder is not simply submitting the previous order's quantity again. First confirm which path you are reordering through: for available styles, check sizes, quantities, and shipping conditions against the current ordering window; for custom styles, return to the approved sample, specification version, and order terms of the original project. The checkpoints differ between these two paths, and mixing them up can easily produce answers that look similar but are not actually comparable.
Available style reorders: stock and pricing are subject to the current window
For available styles, pricing, available size ranges, and minimum order quantities are subject to what is shown on the current product page and ordering window. The knowledge base does not store fixed stock figures or long-term valid prices. Sizes that shipped on the previous order may not still be available within the current range.
Before reordering, list the total quantity for the same style and the required size breakdown, then check each size against the ordering window. If sizes are missing or quantities exceed the available range, contact the sales team to confirm supply or move the discussion to custom development. Some products support a 1-piece minimum and mixed sizes within the same style, but this depends on the current product rules and is not a uniform condition across all available styles.
Claims of same-day dispatch for available styles refer to the outbound stage and do not equal delivery time. The destination country, postcode, and desired delivery date still need to be provided; shipping costs, transport methods, taxes, and customs clearance responsibilities are confirmed in the quotation or order.
Custom reorders: return to the original approved version, not inferences from the style number
The core reference materials for a custom reorder are the approved sample from the previous order and the specification version confirmed by both parties. The same style number does not automatically mean the fabric, wash, trims, and dimensional tolerances match the previous order.
Items to verify one by one include: whether there are available batches of the fabric composition and weight, whether the target color samples for wash color and distressing effects have been retained, whether trims such as main labels, care labels, and leather patches are still in stock or need to be remade, and whether the size chart version has been updated. Fabric substitutions may affect color, wash, hand feel, and garment dimensions; after any change, the sample should be re-checked and cannot be treated as a direct equivalent substitution.
Minimum order quantities also need to be reconfirmed. Some custom development reference styles on the website indicate a 30-piece-per-style minimum, while minimums for other custom styles still need to be confirmed per project; 30 pieces is not a uniform threshold for all styles, fabrics, or colors. Also clarify whether the minimum is calculated per style, per color, or per size, and that quantities for different styles are not combined by default.
Which milestone the lead time starts from must be clarified before reordering
The project lead's statements that sampling takes 3 days, bulk delivery is within 30 days depending on volume, and available styles ship the same day are capabilities and arrangements that need to be confirmed against the specific order. For a reorder, confirm at least three things: which confirmation milestone the lead time starts from, whether the current schedule has capacity, and how dispatch is distinguished from delivery.
If a custom reorder involves remaking trims or switching fabrics, sampling and approval steps may occur again, and the lead time cannot simply carry over from the previous order. Dispatch does not equal delivery; international transit and customs clearance time are calculated separately, and DDP or a specific carrier should not be assumed by default when unknown.
Comparing quotations: align the inclusions first
Compare the reorder quotation against the previous order's quotation to confirm whether sample fees, trims, packaging, shipping, taxes, and other services are included. The range prices and tiered prices on available-style pages are not the lowest price applicable to any quantity; verify against the total quantity for the same style and the current specifications. Custom products are quoted based on requirements and do not carry over available-style pricing.
Two quotations with similar numbers may not cover the same scope of work. If fabric, wash, trims, and packaging are not aligned, it is not yet possible to judge which one is suitable for the reorder.
Flag gaps first when information is incomplete
For reorder communication, it is best to provide in one go: the original style number or product link, the approved sample and specification version from the previous order, the quantity and size breakdown for each style this time, whether fabric or wash adjustments are needed, whether trims and labels will carry over, the target delivery date, and the destination country. When information is incomplete, first state the details you most want to keep or adjust, and let the sales team confirm the missing items rather than filling in the form with estimates.
The boundary for reorder decisions is this: what can be verified is the current window, the approved version, and the order terms; stock, pricing, and scheduling for this order cannot be inferred from the previous order's experience. For custom reorders, refer to custom denim development and private label services to understand the scope of communication; for available style reorders, check current conditions style by style through available denim sourcing.
